Fancy Color Diamond Rings

One thing that you will want to do when you set out to buy a colored diamond ring is to recalibrate your expectations and methods of evaluating diamonds themselves. The importance of clarity is lessened, and the cut of a colored diamond is substantially different than in a colorless model. Let’s discuss this for a moment. The reason why clarity is less important is rather obvious: with fancy color diamond rings, you want to see the color itself, which is the opposite of clarity. Clarity is important with white diamonds, where you want to see “through” them to a certain extent, but with colored diamonds, you really do not want this type of clarity, as it reduces the color, which is counterproductive.
With respect to cut, colorless diamonds are cut in such a way to increase the clarity and reduce any traces of color that are found in the diamond itself. Of course, with colored diamonds, the cut will be performed in a way that enhances the natural beauty of the diamond’s color.
Keep in mind that the price that you pay will have a lot to do with the color of diamond you prefer, as well as the size of the diamond itself. It is harder to find a large diamond with a vivid color, so you can expect to pay more for such a diamond. Also, since colors such as red (or pink) and green are rare, you will pay more for these colored diamonds, as well.
Fancy color diamond rings are a great way to celebrate an engagement or other special moment with a certain amount of individuality that is hard to find with colorless diamond rings. You can simultaneously express your own personal sense of style, all while retaining the simple elegance that a diamond ring can provide, which is what makes colored diamond rings so attractive!
