If you are really looking to make a statement of love and affection towards the person you plan on marrying, designer engagement rings are definitely one way to do it. While these types of rings vary widely in price and style, most people think “expensive” when they think of designer rings, and this is not necessarily an incorrect assumption. However, it is important to realize that just like with any other types of engagement rings, designer engagement rings come in all kinds of shapes, sizes, styles and prices. Plus, the type of emphasis on individuality that designer jewelry usually has, you are sure to find something that fits you perfectly and won’t be seen on every third hand that you notice at the mall or a local restaurant.
One of the more important parts of choosing a designer ring, whether it is to symbolize an engagement or not, is to know what you are looking for beforehand. You will find that you have a better time shopping for your ring (or the ring for your future spouse) if you at least have some idea of what you like, what you don’t like, and what your price range might be.
When factoring in the price that you are willing to pay, you may find that you need to make small concessions in the designer engagement rings that you are considering in order to stay within your price range. Often, it is possible to do so by selecting a smaller center stone that is framed in such a way as to make it look more impressive, or by having a band decorated with gemstones other than diamonds to go along with the diamond centerpiece.
Of course, do not forget about the ring itself when you shop. Depending on whether you prefer gold (traditional gold or white gold), platinum or any other type of band, you will have a lot of different options. Again, by making concessions in this area, you may be able to afford designer engagement rings with a larger diamond or other features that are more important to you. In the end, selecting a designer ring to commemorate your engagement is a very personal decision, and no one but yourself can find the perfect ring for you!
